London Gastroenterology Practice is able to offer a comprehensive range of general gastroenterology consults from the Irritable bowel syndrome diagnosis and treatment in London, to inflammatory bowel disease. Endoscopic procedures include diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastro-intestinal procedures, including for colorectal cancer screening. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound scanning (EUS) are offered by appropriate referral to colleagues at London Bridge or St Thomas’ hospital with whom we have a very good cross referral arrangement. A particular feature of our practice is intra-gastric balloon placement as an adjunct to weight loss therapy.

The principal Gastroenterologist is Dr Jude A. Oben. Dr Oben (BM, BCh, Ph.D, MRCP) is an Oxford and Johns Hopkins University trained Gastroenterologist with sub-speciality and research expertise in liver disease and obesity. The primary research of Dr Oben’s research group in relationship to obesity is obesity induced liver disease. He holds an NHS Consultant appointment at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital.
